Volunteering at a Senior Center​
Volunteering at a senior center every Saturday morning has been one of the most heartwarming experiences. My job is to read books to the seniors, play board games with them, and listen to their stories.​
Mrs. Lee tells me about her childhood in Korea, showing me old photos. Mr. Chen teaches me how to play chess, even when I make silly mistakes. Last week, we had a small party, and I helped them decorate cookies. Seeing their smiles when we laugh or when they talk about their memories makes me happy. Volunteering at the senior center taught me that everyone has interesting stories to share, and spending time with them is a gift for both of us.
